The CPS Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal Saturday night stabbing.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., a man was seen stumbling in the parking lot of a Tim Hortons location in the 3900 block of 17 Ave. S.E.  Emergency officials responded to the restaurant and discovered the man has suffered stab wounds to his upper chest.

The stabbing victim was transported to hospital by EMS in critical, life threatening condition. 

On Sunday morning, the man succumbed to his injuries in hospital.  The identity of the victim has not been released pending the results of an autopsy and the notification of next of kin.

Police have identified a person who they believe may have been with the victim prior to the stabbing.

In connection to the stabbing, CPS members are looking to speak with a woman who goes by the nickname "Kitty".  Kitty is approximately 173 – 178 cm (5’8” -5’10”) tall and was wearing a pink hoodie on Saturday night.
