The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating the death of a woman following a medical distress call in the city’s south.
Shortly after 2:00 p.m., EMS responded to a medical call in an alleyway in the 200 block of Shawville Blvd. S.E. at a location behind the Shawnessy Walmart location.
EMS transported the patient, a woman in her 50's, to the South Health Campus Centre in life-threatening condition. The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police are treating the death of the unidentified woman as suspicious and are scheduling an autopsy.
