Final submissions are expected on Monday in the deportation hearing of alleged gangster Jackie Tran.

Tran came to Calgary in 1993 and was ordered deported after he was convicted of drug trafficking in 2004.

Calgary Police say that Tran is a member of a gang that is involved in a war that has resulted in 21 deaths but Tran denies that.

His family claims that he is no longer involved in criminal activity and is simply a hard working man.

Once final submissions are heard it could take weeks for a decision to be made.

Immigration officials say in the last two years nearly 70 of Calgary's violent criminals have been deported.
