A former Calgary teacher, who has been held in an Indonesian jail since earlier this year, will now be tried in connection with a high profile child sexual assault case.

Neil Bantleman has been in an Indonesian prison for months after he was arrested in Jakarta following an investigation into the sexual assault of kindergarten students that allegedly took place at the Jakarta International School where he worked.

Bantleman’s brother Guy said that the family has received many letters of support, but efforts to get the Canadian government to intervene have not been successful.
