A vehicle slammed through an exterior wall of a northeast home on Sunday morning before coming to a rest in the basement of the residence.
Shortly after 11:00 a.m., emergency crews responded to the 200 block of Martindale Dr. N.E. following reports an SUV had crashed into a house.
According to the Calgary Fire Department, a small SUV was travelling southbound on Martindale Dr. when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the walkout basement of a home situated at the corner of Martin Crossing Dr. and Martindale Dr. N.E.
The SUV driver was transported by EMS to hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. The passengers in the vehicle were unharmed.
The residents of the home were not in the house at the time of the incident.
Members of the Calgary Fire Department successfully removed the vehicle from the home after constructing a ramp.
