Bylaw officers say the owner of a pit bull will be charged after an attack on 17 Avenue S.W.
It happened just after 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon near 9 Street S.W.
Two dogs got into a fight and when a passerby tried to break it up, she was bitten.
Witnesses say it took a number of people to get the dog to release her hand.
The dog does not have a history with Calgary Animals Services and will be returned to the woman taking care of it while they investigate.
The owner will face charges for injury control under city bylaws.
