Ed McNally, the founder of Big Rock Brewery, passed away on Tuesday night at the age of 89.
Big Rock tweeted the news to the community on Wednesday.

McNally founded the Calgary-based brewery in 1985 and was one of Alberta's most high-profile businessmen.
He was CEO until his retirement in 2012 and was known for his philanthropy.
McNally supported many Calgary charities and non-profits including the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Calgary Women's Shelter and the United Way.
