Three people face charges following a Sunday morning traffic stop east of Cochrane.

According to the Cochrane RCMP detachment, at approximately 4:00 a.m. officers stopped a westbound vehicle travelling on Highway 1A after police noticed a burnt out tail light. During the traffic stop, RCMP spotted illicit drugs inside the vehicle and an officer encountered the ‘overwhelming odour’ of marijuana.

The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested and a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of:

  • Crack cocaine
  • MDMA
  • Suspected Methamphetamine
  • Marijuana
  • Knives
  • A gun
  • Bear spray
  • A large sum of cash (amount not disclosed)

In connection with the seizure of drugs, cash and weapons, the following individuals face a number of charges:

  • Brenna Drader, 20, of Cochrane
  • Dylan Morley-Johnson, 26, of Calgary
  • Branden Newborn, 29, of Calgary

The accused are scheduled to appear in Cochrane Provincial Court on Tuesday.
