Officials say that no one was hurt when a CTrain entering Calgary’s downtown core hit a switch and ended up derailing at City Hall Station.

The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on Thursday night.

The momentum of the train actually carried it up onto the platform of the LRT station.

Again, officials say no one was injured in the crash, but service in the area was limited to a single track through the core.

That made it especially difficult for Flames fans just getting out of the game at the Saddledome.

Crews had to bring in specialized equipment to lift the train off the platform and set it back on the tracks.

They also inspected the track and determined that there was no significant damage.

Calgary Transit says that all service is running on schedule for Friday's commute.
