A drug trafficking investigation by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) has resulted in charges against two Lethbridge residents.

On Wednesday, members of the Lethbridge Regional Police Service and ALERT executed search warrants at an undisclosed Lethbridge business and a Lethbridge apartment suite.

As a result of the searches, officers seized:

  • Cocaine
  • Marijuana
  • Psilocybin
  • $65,000 in cash
  • A Ford Escape
  • A Dodge truck (model not disclosed)

According to ALERT officials, the drugs have an estimated street value of $24,000.

Police have arrested and charged two people in connection to the investigation.

25-year-old Patrick Rodney faces charges of:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (five counts)
  • Possession of proceeds of crime
  • Breach of recognizance

19-year-old Rachel Thompson faces two drug related offenses.
