Calgary police are investigating a Sunday night assault in an alleyway in the 700 block of 12 Avenue Southwest that claimed one life.
Officers responded to reports of a fight at around 11:00 p.m. and located the lifeless body of the victim of an assault.
Police confirm the death is a homicide and the CPS Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
The identity of the deceased has not been released.
