Fans going to Flames games at the Scotiabank Saddledome are being advised  to arrive early tonight and at all games in the future.

The NHL franchise said, in light of the recent deaths of two soldiers, security is being tightened.

On the team’s website a statement reads in part “Calgary Sports & Entertainment Corporation extends deepest sympathy to all those affected by the tragic events most recently in Quebec and Ottawa.”

It also goes to say, the organization has reviewed its security and there will now be enhanced security measures including metal detectors, bag checks, and surveillance.

As a result it may take longer for the fans to get into the Saddledome.

The Calgary Flames host  the Carolina Hurricanes at 7pm Thursday.
