A guilty verdict from a jury in the murder case of a Calgary couple.

Tosha and Jason Hubler were charged in the death of flea market vendor Ray Johnson.

The 77-year-old was beaten to death when he came to the couple's Brideland home in January 2009. His body was dumped in the community of Ramsay.

Johnson was lured to the home with promises of tools to buy.

During the trial, Tosha claimed her husband Jason came up with a plan to kill Johnson to steal his truck and said she only took part in the murder because she feared her husband would kill her if she didn't.

Jason claimed Johnson fell down the stairs and died.

Johnson's family released this statement:

"We want to thank the Calgary Police Service for their tireless efforts, the Victim Support Services team for their great support through the whole process, and we want to thank the media for their coverage of the story, but more importantly the respect they have shown our family.

Although Ray is no longer with us, his memory and spirit lives on. It is important to us that his story and the senseless way he was taken from us be remembered. We urge the flea-market community to remember this story and to take precautions that something like this does not happen again.

This has been a long and difficult process for our family and friends. We have waited for this day for over two years and we are relieved with the verdict. We feel that justice for Ray has been served."

The Hublers get an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years.
