Calgary police have determined Thursday’s death in the East Village was a homicide.

On Thursday afternoon, officers responded to the Bow River pathway, near the intersection of Riverfront Avenue and 4th Street Southeast, following the discovery of a body.

The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Ryan Edward Delve.

An autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined Delve’s death was a homicide. The cause of Delve’s death has not been released.

The Calgary Police Service homicide unit continues to investigate the death. Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the East Village on Thursday morning is asked to contact the CPS, 403-266-1234, or Crime Stoppers.
