Lethbridge Regional Police Service officers have arrested and charged a 40-year-old man in connection to Wednesday afternoon's death of a local woman.

On Thursday, LRPS officials declared Lucien Maurice Crane Chief a suspect in connection to the death of 37-year-old Cynthia Pearl Badarm. Following a tip from the public, Crane Chief was located in a south side neighbourhood.

Crane Chief has been charged with second degree murder. A date for Crane Chief’s court appearance has yet to be set.

Police were called to the 400 block of 5 St. S. on Wednesday following reports of a man assaulting a woman. The victim, Cynthia Badarm, was transported to hospital by ambulance but succumbed to her injuries.
