Emergency crews were called to a crash on the Trans-Canada Highway west of the city on Friday morning that sent one person to hospital.

Crews were called to the westbound lanes of the highway, near Range Road 40, at about 11:30 a.m. for reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

EMS officials say a woman in her 40s was taken to Foothills Hospital in stable non-life threatening condition.

A number of other people were assessed at the scene by paramedics and released.

There is no word yet on what caused the crash.
