For many people the best part of the Calgary Stampede is the food and this year a number of new items have been added to the menu to tantalize the taste buds of adventurous visitors.

The vendors on the midway are bringing traditional treats like cotton candy, corn dogs and mini-donuts but the event is also a chance to test out a few new recipes.

“We aim to bring some of the most enticing, tasty and astonishing foods to the Calgary Stampede midway each summer, and this year we’ve got some amazing options,” said James Radke, Midway Operations Manager. “From sweet snacks and mouth-watering desserts to thirst-quenching drinks and healthy bites, stampede has an option for everyone.”

This year, 34 new culinary creations are making their debut including: golden grasshopper pie pop, mac n’ cheese stuffed burgers, deep-fried butter tarts, Poutine Corn Dog, Sticky Toffee Bug Balls, Deep Fried Tequila Shot Bites and more.

The new eats will be voted on by a panel of celebrity judges during sneak-a-peek to determine the best new food on the midway.

The Calgary Stampede runs from July 8th to 17th, click HERE for more information.
