Emergency crews are at the scene of a fatal crash in southeast Calgary where a vehicle went off the road and crashed into a gravel pile.
Officials say a car was northbound on Deerfoot Trail when it lost control and crashed through a fence at the Lafarge plant near Anderson Road.
The car struck a gravel pile and came to a stop.
EMS confirm that one person, a woman in her 30s, has died as a result.
The northbound lanes of Deerfoot Trail at Southland Drive S.E. were closed for a short time to assist in the investigation.
They have since reopened.
The name of the victim is not being released.
