Dustin Paxton told police during an interview that he was not sadistic and out of control, according to a tape shown in court on Friday.

Paxton was interviewed by Edmonton police and appeared articulate and empassioned, at times calm, and at other times flying into an uncontrolled rage.

In court on Thursday he was disheveled and cried while watching the video.

Paxton merely sat and watched the video quietly in the courtroom on Friday.

The Paxton in the video was an entirely different person, it seemed, flying into a rage when officers told him the video that the victim was sexually abused.

"I'm not that lying torturing abusing sadistic (expletive)," Paxton told police. "I care about every single person, even every person who wrote a statement against me."

The video also shows Paxton's obvious intelligence despite his life on the streets since he was 12 years old.

He is apparently very articulate and the answers he has for police demonstrate broad medical and legal knowledge.

At the end of the interview, he thanks officers for the interview and then, when he is left in the room alone for quite some time, he utters one word – "Un-effing-believable."

Dustin Paxton is on trial for the alleged torture of his co worker and roommate who was dumped at a Regina hospital in 2010 with severe injuried including burns, a smashed nose, and broken bones.
