Calgary police are looking for two men who may have been involved in a fatal shooting on a northeast street back in August and have released an image of a vehicle that was seen in the area.
Emergency crews were called to a residence in the 7000 block of California Blvd. N.E. on August 22 at about 9:00 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
Police say a witness was driving by when he noticed David Quach, 27, lying next to a parked vehicle in the driveway.
The witness said that Quach got up, entered the vehicle, reversed out of the driveway onto the road and then crashed into him. Quach then fell out of the vehicle and onto the ground.
He was taken to hospital and later died from his injuries.
A few days later, 20-year-old Said Raed Abdulbaki was charged with second-degree murder in connection to Quach’s death.
Police believe it was a targeted attack and on Thursday released an image of a vehicle that was spotted in the area at the time of the shooting.
The vehicle is described as a silver older-model compact car with a black driver’s side door.
Two males were in the vehicle and police believe they are directly involved in the incident.
Police are also putting together a Crime Stoppers re-enactment to encourage members of the public to come forward with any information about the shooting.
Quach's sister Joanne is also hoping witnessess will come forward with more details.
"He was amazing person, lots of friends. You can clearly tell by the way that we cared for him, who he was as a person," she said.
