Police are appealing to the public for information about a suspicious man who approached a couple of children near a playground in Okotoks on Friday.

Investigators say a man in his 40s walked up to two children, who were near the playground area of Cimarron Close, and asked what game they were playing.

The man appeared to have been frightened away when another adult came into the park with a dog and the suspect left the area in an older model truck.

The man is described as:

  • Brown/grey beard
  • Medium length black hair with grey patches
  • About 178 to 180 cm or 5’10” to 5’11” tall
  • Heavy build

The truck is described as:

  • Mid 1990 model truck
  • Red with black painted on the bottom of the body
  • Paint chipped off all over the body of the truck
