Calgary police are searching for an armed suspect after a woman was transported to hospital with gunshot wounds following a Sunday morning shooting in Tuscany.

“We don’t believe that anyone else is a target at this point in time,” said CPS Insp. Mike Tillotson, “but certainly we consider him to be armed and dangerous.”

According to police, at around 4:00 a.m., officers responded to the 0 - 100 block of Tuscany Springs Hill N.W. to investigate reported gunshots.

Police located a woman, believed to in her early 40s, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The patient was transported by EMS to hospital in serious, non-life threatening condition.

As of Sunday afternoon, police describe the victim's condition as critical but stable.

Police believe the victim's vehicle and the suspect's vehicle collided several times before shots were fired.

“There had been a vehicle collision just prior to the shooting,” said Insp. Tillotson. “We’re still trying to piece together the events leading up to that collision.”

The suspected gunman fled the scene in a vehicle. Police have identified the suspect as 51-year-old Ulises Boris Quinteros.
