RCMP and the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team have arrested two people in connection with a drug trafficking operation working out of Black Diamond.

On October 8, investigators executed a search warrant on a home in the community that was the center of numerous complaints of drug activity and was causing a great deal of concern.

Authorities seized over two kilograms of marijuana, a long rifle, $1,000 in cash, as well as other evidence of drug trafficking from the home.

Brian Blakeman, 56, and Tammy Forsyth, 44, were both arrested and charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of the proceeds of crime
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm without a licence

Residents are encouraged to report drug activity in their neighbourhood by calling their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
