A 20-year-old woman is in hospital after she lost control of her vehicle and smashed into a concrete divider on McKnight Boulevard on Monday morning.

Police were called to the scene of the crash at about 1:15 a.m. and say a white Acura, travelling on McKnight between Barlow and Metis trails, left the roadway and hit a concrete divider.

The female driver remains in life threatening condition in hospital and a 19-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries.

Police say speed is considered a factor in the collision but don’t believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
