Calgary Police are still looking for the driver involved in a fatal hit and run early Monday morning, but they have confirmed the identity of the victim.

Eliah McEdwards, 20, of Calgary was struck and killed while he was walking along 16 Avenue N.E. near Barlow Trail.

Police say the vehicle that hit McEdwards briefly left the road but returned and drove away, westbound, from the scene.

McEdwards suffered a fatal head injury as a result of the crash and died at the scene.

Police have located a dark blue Hyundai Santa Fe in the 2400 block of Vermilion Street N.E. but have not determined if it is connected with the incident.

Investigators are looking for a dark blue vehicle with significant front-end damage.
