Calgary police are asking for information from the public to help locate an 18-year-old man wanted in connection with Sunday’s murder of Christa Cachene in her northwest townhouse.

Isaiah Riel Rider is wanted on a second degree murder charge in connection to Cachene’s death. Arrest warrants have also been issued for Rider on assault and breach of conditions.

On Sunday afternoon, Christa Cachene’s father located his daughter’s remains in her home while returning his grandchildren. The 26-year-old woman has been viciously beaten in the hours following a Saturday night house party.

Police believe Rider attended the party.

Rider is described as:

  • An Aboriginal male
  • Approximately 188 cm (6’2”) tall
  • Weighing 70 kg (155 lbs)
  • Having black hair and brown eyes

Rider is believed to be in Southern Alberta, possibly in the greater Calgary area.
