Eight months after the brutal beating and death of a Calgary man, two arrests have been made.
Calgary police have taken two men into custody in connection with the murder of Mark Mariani.
Mariani, 47, was found beaten to death in a parking lot across from North Hill Centre mall on October 3, 2010.
At the time of his death, the man lived with his parents and was battling Crohn's Disease.
Police believe he was attacked and beaten as he was leaving a store, and say Mariani was an innocent victim.
On Tuesday, Tyler William Sturrup, 26, was arrested in Edmonton. He was quickly transported to Calgary.
The other suspect, Robert David Reitmeier, 24, was arrested in Calgary. Both men were led to the Arrest Processing Unit on Wednesday morning.
Police say that both of these men are white supremacists, but that affiliation has nothing to do with the crime.
Mariani's mother says she is relieved by the arrests, but is still processing everything that has happened.
Police say both men are facing second degree murder charges.
They will appear in court on June 8.
Investigators are continuing the search for a third suspect in Mariani's murder.
