Sarah Dolan is one of Alberta's most sought after dancers and choreographers and is the CTV Calgary Athlete of the Week.

This Calgary native found her life's work when she first began dancing at the age of five.

“As a studio dancer we get sort of a broad rounded education in dance so from contemporary ballet is probably where I’m more proficient, um jazz, musical theatre, hip-hop, tap um yep, just a little bit of everything,” said Dolan.

Dolan also incorporates yoga and cardio training into her regimen so she can do the athletic and artistic moves.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that we're athletes as well like, what we require our bodies to do, the amount of training, the physicality of what we do, is definitely makes us athletes,” said Dolan.

She trains at least four days a week and works with local dancers at least 40 hours a week.

Her impressive resume also includes assistant choreography stints with both the US, Canadian and UK versions of "So You Think You Can Dance."

Dolan assisted on 11 episodes for the popular series and brings that experience to her other role of Artistic Director for O2 the dance company.

“O2 was the dream to connect dancers in Calgary and to give them a home from all different studios and that are pursing dance through all different mediums.”

The company's next show Answers is on at Theatre Junction Grand from November 7th to 9th

For her passion for dance, Sarah Dolan is the CTV Calgary Athlete of the Week.
