The family of 18 year old Colton Crowshoe say they may soon have some answers about he died.

Crowshoe was reported missing in July 2014; his body was later found in a pond about a month later.

He’d been killed but police haven’t found out who did it.

Jimmy Crowshoe says police are taking another look at the death of his son but says it’s too little too late. “It's been over a year now and now they're going to look at it again and it kind of gets me frustrated, why is this happening, what's going on?”

Crowshoe was arrested just days before he disappeared.

His family says police didn’t take his disappearance seriously because of his history with them and because of his race.

The department is now the subject of an investigation but Crowshoe’s father says that doesn’t give him any peace. “A part of my life has crumbled but at the same time too I’m trying real hard to try to maintain and trying real hard to try to get justice.”

Colton’s aunt Tanya Johnston says she lost faith in the justice system a long time ago. ”It’s been really difficult from the beginning due to the fact that we had no help from them when we asked for help.”

Calgary police have told the Crowshoe family to expect a public update at 9 o’clock Monday morning.
