The Calgary Police Service has concluded its search of a Parkhill home, the last known location of Nathan O’Brien and his grandparents, as the police investigation continues into the disappearance of the family last seen two weeks ago.
Sunday morning, officers removed the crime scene tape from the Liknes home on 38A Ave. S.W.
Police continue to search the Spyhill Landfill, in the city’s northwest, and RCMP officers are assisting CPS members as they continue to comb an acreage northeast of Airdrie and the surrounding properties.
The rural property belongs to the Garland family. According to neighbours, Douglas Garland, a ‘person of interest’ in the missing persons investigation, lives on the acreage.
Douglas Garland was released from police custody on Friday evening in connection to a charge unrelated to the missing persons investigation. Police have not identified Garland as a suspect in the disappearance of Alvin and Kathryn Liknes and their grandson, five-year-old Nathan O’Brien.
