Calgary police are treating the death of a man whose body was discovered in northwest Calgary as a homicide.
The body was found around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010 in the 1500 block of 16 Ave. N.W.
An autopsy was conducted, but the cause of death is not being released.
The victim has been identified as Mark Anthony Mariani, 47, of Calgary.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances around this incident.
At this time, the motive is not known and investigators are exploring all avenues, including the possibility that this incident may have been random in nature.
Police are looking for public assistance from anyone who may have information on this incident, or any suspicious activity in the area, between midnight and 8:00 a.m., on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010.
