Fire crews are at the scene of a fire that broke out at a gas station in northeast Calgary on Monday morning.

At about 5 a.m., crews were called to a Petro Canada gas station located in the 600 block of 16 Avenue N.E.

The fire has created a lot of smoke in the area, but is considered under control at this time.

Officials say the fire was contained to the roof of the building.
