There are only 39 days left until Christmas and business owners in Inglewood have swung open their doors for Calgarians looking for the perfect gift to give.

For ten years now, businesses in Inglewood have been offering extended hours in an attempt to draw shoppers to the area.

But this year, many stores were affected by June’s flooding and owners say that the 40-day event is another great way to support the community and help it recover.

“This even is just another example of how people like to shop local, shop small, and get to know the people that run the businesses,” says Michelle Barby of Savour Fine Foods and Kitchenware.

Holiday cheer will be running rampant in the area, with performers and décor.

Businesses will also be competing for the best winter window designs.
