Lowe's Canada is moving into two Calgary locations left vacant when Target pulled up stakes following its disastrous foray north of the border.

The home improvement giant will be moving into the former stores at Signal Hill Centre and Shawnessy.

That leaves four other empty stores in Calgary.

It’s not clear what will happen to them, but Canadian Tire and Goodlife Fitness have all showed interest in buying up the former Target locations.

Walmart has bought up 13 former Target locations in Canada, but none of those new locations are in Alberta.

Lowes operates three locations in the Calgary area, with a total of seven in the province.

Target closed up shop in Canada on April 12.
