A pedestrian escaped with just minor injuries on Tuesday after he was hit by a CTrain while crossing the street in downtown Calgary.

A man in his 20s crossing at 7 Ave. and 9 St. S.W. was hit at just after 5 p.m., pinned under the car, and be dragged before the train finally stopped.

Police say according to eyewitnesses, the man was wearing earbuds at the time of the incident and started to cross the street while under a ‘don't walk' signal.

This is the second time a pedestrian has been hit by a CTrain this week.

On Monday morning, a 49 year old woman was killed when she was crossing the street to catch the train at the Whitehorn station in the northeast.

Police also say that she appeared to be distracted.
