Calgary Police have laid a charge of first degree murder against a Calgary man in connection with the death of Graham Sear last June.

Christopher Brian Richards, 30, has been charged with murder.

He was arrested on Wednesday in Beacon Hill.

Graham Sear was found dead inside a silver Toyota 4Runner SUV on June 8, 2012, that was parked behind the Braeside Shopping Centre.

Witnesses say they saw an assault inside the vehicle and spotted two men in their 20s fleeing the scene shortly after.

Investigators say that the horn on the vehicle was pressed several times during the course of the assault.

Surveillance cameras captured a Kia Spectra sedan leaving the scene shortly after the incident.

According to investigators, Sear’s death was drug related and may have been the result of a botched drug deal.

Investigators believe Sear knew one of his assailants and had arranged the drug deal with him.

They are still looking for a second suspect in the crime.

He is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 5' 8" to 6' tall
  • slim to medium build
  • light coloured hair
