Investigators have released photos of two men who were at a pub last year when a man was stabbed to death and are hoping the public can help identify them.

Police were called to the Sunset and Vine Pub at about 1:45 a.m., on Saturday, March 17, 2012, for reports of an altercation inside.

When officers arrived, they found a man in medical distress, suffering from stab wounds.

Mario Alberto Gomez, 23, died at the scene.

Police say that witness accounts indicate that Gomez was standing inside the bar when he became involved in an altercation with another man.

Gomez was stabbed and the offender fled the scene along with a group of friends.

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 183 cm or 6’ tall
  • Short hair
  • Believed to be about 20 to 25 years old

Last year, police released photos and videos from the scene of a number of people they were interested in talking to and were able to identify some of the individuals through tips gathered from the public.

Investigators say they are still hoping to identify two men who were at the pub that night and have released photos of them.

Police do not believe this was a random attack but still have not been able to establish a motive.

Anyone with information about the identity of the individuals in the photographs, or this homicide, is asked to call the CPS Homicide Tip Line at 403-428-8877.
