RCMP investigators are still collecting evidence at the scene of two separate explosions along a natural gas pipeline in northeastern B.C. near the Alberta border.

The Explosives Unit and Terrorism Unit are scouring an area near Dawson Creek.

The blasts, one last weekend and another last Wednesday night, damaged the pipeline but did not cause it to rupture.

Security has been beefed up along the pipeline, including helicopter patrols, looking for any suspicious activity.

Meantime, the issue was a hot topic at a national conference of emergency officials meeting in Calgary this weekend.

Military analyst, Mercedes Stephenson, attended the conference.

Stephenson told CTV News much more needs to be done to protect the province's pipelines.
