A new riding with some familiar faces. That's a snapshot of the race for Chestermere-Rockyview.

For years, Bruce McAllister was a Calgary news anchor before he made the jump to politics and the Wildrose party.

"I enjoyed those political interviews. When policy doesn't make sense you need to get after people and find out why. Now I'm able to step forward and not only get after them and propose better solutions and be part of real change," he says.

McAllister is running in the new riding of Chestermere-Rockyview, which covers a vast area on both the east and west sides of Calgary.

Half the riding used to belong to Calgary-foothills and represented PC's by Ted Morton.

He's running again.

The riding's new boundaries have created a unique divide.

On the west, Morton is a known quantity, their man in Edmonton for the last eight years.

On the east, McAllister is the hometown boy who has raised his family in the town he wants to represent.

Sian Ramsden is running for the Liberals and Nathan Salmon is running for the NDP.

With new boundaries but familiar faces, the fight for Chestermere-Rockyview could be a close one.
