Lisa Guerin has taken the stand in her own defence.

Guerin and Jonathon Hope are charged with manslaughter in connection to the death of their daughter Summer Hope.

Guerin is contradicting testimony given by her ex-friend Amanda MacDonald.

On Wednesday, MacDonald told court she was in the home when Summer came out of a bedroom with a stain on her shirt.

MacDonald testified that Guerin and Hope argued over whose fault it was that their daughter drank methadone.

MacDonald also told court that Guerin received a call for help from Jonathon, while they were on their way to Rocky Mountain House.

Records show several calls were made from the Hope residence to a cell phone allegedly belonging to Lisa Guerin.

Guerin says she had no idea her 16-month-old daughter drank methadone, in April 2006, when she left her to go to Rocky Mountain House.

Guerin's lawyer argued that MacDonald's testimony was fabricated.

During cross examination, Prosecutor Ken McCaffrey told court Guerin has lied before and could be lying now.

The judge is expected to give his verdict on Friday afternoon.
