Police investigating a baffling crime may be hampered because the victim suffers from amnesia.

According to his family's website, The victim has been diagnosed with retrograde amnesia and post-traumatic stress disorder.

The former Calgary man is currently in a Regina hospital.

The man was mysteriously dropped off at the hospital seven weeks ago.

He had been beaten, tortured, and part of his tongue and lips were cut off.

The amnesia means he may never be able to remember the details of his injuries.

Police have yet to make an arrest or name a suspect in the case.
