Calgary police have arrested two people in connection with a serious incident involving a laser pointer on Monday night.

At about 11:30 p.m., police were called to the area of Market Mall for reports that two individuals were shining a laser pointer at cars.

The police officers attempted to pull the car over, at which point the offenders pointed the device at the officers.

The suspects’ car sped away and HAWCS was called to engage in the pursuit.

The incident soon resulted in a foot chase and both suspects were arrested.

The officers involved were taken to hospital as a precaution but were not injured.

Charges are pending.
