The next phase of the flood recovery is now underway in Calgary and a multi-agency initiative has been launched to help organize services.
On Thursday, The Canadian Red Cross, The Calgary Foundation, The Federation of Calgary Communities and The City of Calgary along with several other agencies, met at the United Way to discuss the next phases of the city’s flood recovery plan.
The meeting was to clarify who will be doing what and to make sure that there will be no duplication between agencies.
“We are talking to the people today who are meeting the needs and finding out , what is it you need in order to be able to do your work and are you going to be resilient enough to do your work? What do we need to support you? Because some of the people around the table today don’t bring money to the table but they bring the ability to support the people who are doing the work,” said Lucy Miller of the United Way of Calgary and Area.
