Witnesses continued to take the stand at the Daniel Tschetter trial on Tuesday.

"It has been a very emotional day-and-a-half for all family involved. And our hearts and our prayers go out to all the witnesses that have come forward and testified at the case," says Herb Grider, the uncle of the 16-month-old who was killed in the crash.

Tschetter has pleaded not guilty to five counts of manslaughter and criminal negligence causing death.

In December 2007, the cement truck Tschetter was driving smashed into the back a car, while it was reportedly stopped at a red light, killing all five people inside.

41-year-old Chris Gautreau, his daughters nine-year-old Alexia, six-year-old Kiarra, his girlfriend Melania Hovdebo and her 16-month-old son Zachary all died at the scene.

Witnesses took the stand on Tuesday and described the sound of the cement truck smashing into the car as a deafening explosion.

Many have sobbed while on the stand, including those who ran to the car to help that night.

One witness, who was a waitress for years in bars, said she approached Tschetter at the scene and he smelled like booze, which Tschetter denies.

"The bottom line is I don't think there is going to be any evidence that he was impaired. In fact, there is not even a charge that he was impaired," says Balfour Der, Tschetter's Lawyer.

The trial is expected to wrap up next week.
