A plan is in the works to redevelop the area along the Bow River between the Louise Bridge and Eau Claire Plaza and the city is looking for input from the public.

The Eau Claire Promenade is a busy corridor for cyclists and pedestrians and the city hopes to make some improvements to the area to keep up with the demand for the space.

“West Eau Claire Park is a destination for Calgarians and visitors, and we want to continue to find ways to bring and keep people to the area to enjoy the space,” says project manager Greg Stewart with the Planning Department. “We are excited to receive input and ideas from people who use this space and figure out how we can make it that much better.”

Citizens are being asked to submit their ideas to help determine design concepts for the space throughout the month of August.

The survey asks:

  • What is good about the area
  • What changes should be made
  • What is your vision for the park
  • Are there any important elements/constraints to consider

Results from the survey will be available HERE.

A sounding board is in place at the site for people to add their ideas and an information table will also be set up later in the month to gather feedback from Calgarians.

The city says it will present concepts at a public open house in October and a draft plan should be ready by the end of the year.
