A Lethbridge man is recovering in a Calgary hospital after he was stabbed in the head on Tuesday and a 40-year-old man is facing charges in connection to the incident.

Police were called to the 1400 block of 3 Avenue North in Lethbridge at about 5:00 p.m. for a report of two men fighting in an alley.

A 43-year-old man was stabbed in the head and was taken to Chinook Regional Hospital and later transferred to Foothills Hospital in Calgary. He remains in serious but stable condition.

A 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

Sonny Clement Day Rider, 40, of Lethbridge, is charged with aggravated assault. He has been remanded in custody and is expected to be in court on Thursday.
