Calgary police say they’ve arrested and charged two men in connection with a series of break and enter robberies in the southeast community of Radisson.

Following a rise in the reports of break and enters in the community, police investigators were called in to patrol the neighbourhood.

On September 30, officers spotted a suspicious person in the 600 block of Radcliffe Road S.E. Upon further investigation, the man was found to have items from a recent break and enter.

He was arrested at the scene.

Police say Cody Larocque, 25, has been charged with:

  • Break and enter to commit an offence
  • Possession of break and enter tools
  • Failing to comply with a court order

Later that same day, police were called to another robbery in the area and found a suspicious person in the process of breaking into a garage in the 1600 block of Radisson Drive S.E.

Officers chased the suspect down and arrested him. Stolen property was recovered from a green space and returned to the rightful owner.

Dean Gallant, 40, has been charged with:

  • Break and enter to commit an offence
  • Three outstanding Criminal Code warrants

Police don’t believe that the suspects were working together, but add that the property was likely being obtained so it could be sold for drugs, specifically fentanyl.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges could be laid against both men.
