Police say seven-year-old Sloane Marie Viczko has died from injuries sustained when she was hit by a truck driven by her father on May 26, 2016.

In a statement online, the family said, "Our beloved and most exquisite daughter Sloane Marie Viczko passed away this morning in her mother's and father's arms to an army of angel wings. Sloane's wishes to become a donor are being triumphantly met by the truly amazing team at the Alberta Children's Hospital.  Please continue to pray for Sloane's soul, our family and her tireless team and community. We have felt so lifted up by your support. Words cannot even come close to thanking everyone."

Emergency crews were called to a home in the neighbourhood of Tuscany at 4:50 p.m. after a collision was reported.

Police say the child was standing on the sidewalk when her father backed the truck over her. She sustained serious head trauma and was taken to Alberta Children’s Hospital where she died on Tuesday.

The investigation remains ongoing but police say it is a tragic accident.

Neighbours are collecting food and gift cards for the family and a go fund me page has already raised $88,000 to help the family with their expenses.
