Fire breaks out in northwest Calgary

Fire crews are at the scene of a house fire in the northwest Calgary community of Panorama Hills.

At about 3:30 p.m., crews were called to the 100 block of Panora Street N.W. for reports of a fire.

When they got there, they found two homes fully involved.

They managed to get the fire under control and kept it from spreading to other homes, but the fire has virtually destroyed the two houses where it started.

Crews say no one was home at either building when the blaze broke out.

There is no word on a cause at this time.
