A Calgary City Transit bus caught fire early Wednesday morning. It happened about 12:20 am on 162 Avenue S.W. just before Shawville Boulevard.
The bus was heading west when a passenger smelled something and told the driver.
The driver saw flames in his rearview mirrors and stopped the bus.
He and lone passenger got off the bus safely.
It appears wiring in the rear tail light shorted out and caused the fire.
There’s damage to the exterior of the bus.
